Education Program

The students at the faculty of Geo-Science study for 4 years. The four-year program is divided into 8 semesters. After so, the graduates obtain bachelor of Science degree in one of three departments of this faculty such as Geology, Geography and Hydrometeorology.

Vision

The Faculty of Geo-Science has empowered and dynamically provided the young generation with an effective and beneficial academic service and has provided the ground for advancement for the capacities of the younger generation and for the enlightenment of Afghanistan's development. The Geo-Science faculty's vision is to create a qualitative academic system, in accordance with international norms and standards, free from any kind of prejudice and a variety of negative orientations, on the one hand equipped with modern technology, and with other high-level administrative and scientific management at Kabul University and the Ministry of Higher Education there is a special status and credibility.

Mission

The Faculty of Geo-Science is one of the 22 faculties of the University of Kabul, currently studied and investigated by its three departments: Hydrometeorology, Geology and Geography. The Geo-Science faculty with its three graduate departments in 1979 has been set up for the purpose of training geologists and has trained several thousand diverse geoscientists, geophysics, miners, geographers. They train in various ministries and departments and independent departments. At the present time, there is an urgent need for geological educators in the country to play a key role in the use of natural resources in the country.
