General History Department

Visions

Educate and train young professionals who meets social, cultural and political needs of country in national and international level. In additions, record of historical events in order to preserve and support historical texts, are the main visions of the department.

 Missions

General History department as a one of key academic center will be stated to educate and train young and commitment cadres and professionals in national and international levels in order to preserve the history of Afghanistan and meet the Afghan’s labor market needs in this field of study in private and government’s sectors. 

The Department’s goals

  • Educate young professionals with commitments and patriotism;
  • Expand young Afghan historians in the labor market;
  • Conduct research about historical-social problems in order to preserve historical heritages;
  • Train young cadres’ instructors/historians for private and government sectors;
  •   Provide research opportunities in field of general history for academic members and students;
  • Provide fellowship and scholarships opportunities for whomever, interest in general history field.

The three-day workshop for the students of the Department of Theater of the Faculty of Fine Arts was concluded by the guest professor (Dr. Edmund Chow) from Singapore.

The water purification system was used after a 30-year hiatus and was reactivated. It is used to irrigate about 60 acres of green space in the university yard. Full report in the video report prepared by Kabul University Publications Directorate.

A well-equipped computer laboratory has been built for the English Department of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature of Kabul University, where professors conduct their scientific research and students use it in different parts.
