Department of Forestry and Natural Resources

Introduction:

The Forestry and Natural Resources Department was established in 1354 under the name of the Forestry and Horticulture Department. The first round of its graduates graduated in 1358.  Since separating from the Department of Horticulture in 1373, this department has operated independently.

Educational goals

  • Training of technical and professional experts in forestry and natural resources Familiarization and advancement of new systems of conservation, restoration, and sustainable development of natural resources.

  • Providing new solutions to conserve the environment, forests, pastures, protected areas, national parks, grasslands, wildlife, and deserts of the country.

  • Introducing new technologies for the sustainable use of wood, fruits of forest trees, medicinal plants, and other forest products

  • Enhancement of the technical and professional skills of students in the control and monitoring of the country’s water resources (watersheds)

  • Survey, measurement, and research on forest resources and other renewable resources.

Vision:

The Department of Forestry and Natural Resources is determined to become a source of services through the training of experts at the national level by teaching and researching forest exploitation, national parks, and wildlife management.

Mission:

The department is currently engaged in providing training, research, teaching, and opportunities for young experts for the growth and development of a modern and prosperous society in the field of forestry and natural resources.

  • Training of technical and professional experts and specialists in forestry and natural resource management.

  • familiarization with natural resource protection, restoration, and development.

  • Promoting the sustainable use of resources for sustainable development

  • Increasing the technical and professional skills of students in the field of controlling and monitoring the country’s natural resources

  • Training of experts and specialists in survey and research.

Laboratory and equipment:

The department has an independent laboratory that is relatively equipped with basic equipment. This equipment is used to advance the scientific research of professors and students.
