Current Situation

The Faculty of Agriculture has three blocks (block No1, block No2, block No3). All the physical facilities of the Faculty of Agriculture are available in three blocks which are as follows:

• Block No.1: Nine classrooms, of which two classrooms have a capacity of more than 200 Students and the rest with a capacity of more than 50 Students, ten working rooms for teachers, seven laboratories (Agricultural Economics and Extension, Agronomy, Plant Protection, Horticulture, Forestry and Natural Resources, Animal science and Soil and Irrigation), internet club and equipped computer learning laboratory, research farm administration and server room.
• Block No.2: Dean of faculty, Administrative part (Teaching management, Executive Management, Master Program Management of Animal Science and Agronomy Departments), 8 classrooms, three classrooms with a capacity of more than 80 Students, 10 teachers' work rooms, a laboratory (Biotechnology and Agricultural Seed Production) and Server room.
• The meeting hall, located in Block No2, is equipped with a sound system and has a capacity of more than 320 People.
• The conference hall located in Block No2 is equipped with a projector and has a capacity of more than 200 people.
• The library is located in Block No2 and has more than 6600 books in different departments.
• Block No. 3: A Research farm with a capacity of 74 acres in two sides (cultivation of agricultural land and animal Breeding) For purpose of scientific research.
• Two greenhouses for scientific research.
• Research Farm Orchards which are Thika Research Orchard, Apple Garden, Apricot Garden, and Grape Garden.
• Agricultural machinery workshop is located in Block No3 with various tools and equipment such as different types of tractors, different types of seeders, level laser machines, potato planting machines, threshers, rice harvesters, spraying machines, cutters, welding machines, and an air conditioner.
• green nature of faculty with area of ​​6,000 square meters, which is located in two parts (between two blocks and in front of block No.2).
• Volleyball and futsal sports fields with area of ​​500 square meters.
• A Masjid that has the capacity of 100 worshipers at same time.
• Internet: The Faculty of Agriculture uses a wired and wireless Internet system that covers all laboratories, classrooms, and the entire internal area of ​​the Faculty of Agriculture.
• Science and Art Magazine was established more than 60 years ago.
