Architecture Department

Vision

The Department of Architecture will act as an excellent center for architectural studies and research in Afghanistan and the world. Graduates of this department are known as experienced architects of the country and thus will contribute to the development of the country.

The main view of the Architectural Department of Kabul University is that it is a center and system of higher specialized architectural engineering education that not only meets the needs of Afghanistan's development and progress in terms of quantity and quality in terms of contemporary demands; Rather, it competes with the academic standards of regional and world universities.

Kabul University Architectural Department is the first and most prestigious specialized architectural scientific center in the country, which trains technical staff for architectural design projects as well as training scientific staff for all of Afghanistan and higher architecture education with quality and standards appropriate to the needs of society and the labor market.

Architecture Department by providing excellent quality services to all compatriots who have academic and study qualifications; Teaching presentation; Research and lead national projects for growth; Development and progress of the country with graduates who meet the demands of society; Address professional and specialized demands in the country.

Mission

Architecture department of Kabul University, has been established for the scientific development of the country with the aim of training community specialists, expanding knowledge frontiers, solving architectural problems in the community, and in a wide range of undergraduate departments to train specialists needed by the community. It operates at various operational, educational and research levels with a special emphasis on engineering.

This department always puts the development of educational and research facilities and infrastructure to comply with valid international standards and customer satisfaction at the forefront of its goals and pursues its operational policies accordingly.

Educational objectives:

The educational goals of this field are generally the technical and professional development of architectural engineering, but in general, the following topics can be listed in the form of educational goals of this field. It should be noted that our students will be able to achieve the following achievements after completing the five-year course.

  • Having sufficient information in the field of architectural principles and principles.
  • Provide quality higher education for undergraduate students in order to empower successful and innovative graduates for the community.
  • Improving professional quality, group work skills, graduate analysis skills for designing and adapting different buildings
  • Providing the ground for providing high quality theoretical and practical courses in various departments of engineering and the ability of graduates in the field to implement and implement construction projects
  • Understand and know how to draw maps with free hand and engineering tools and programs.
  • Full familiarity with the majority of building elements and how they are presented in the drawings.
  • Familiarity with building materials and how to use them in projects.
  • How to use and collect information from textbooks.
  • How to gather the necessary information of a project from the field.
  • Acquiring knowledge in the design of different types of buildings.
  • Implementation and regulation of office and field affairs of construction and development projects.

  • Familiarity with environmentally sustainable buildings.
  • Familiarity with color and its physical and chemical properties along with its psychological effects on humans and how to use it inside and outside the building.

  • Study and research on the effects of climatic factors and natural conditions of the area above the plan and building repairs.
  • Reviving the identity of Afghan engineering, studying the architectural art of Afghanistan and issues of engineering and urban planning of other countries.
  • Acquisition of engineering knowledge and skills in order to participate in the process of design, reconstruction and reconstruction of the country;
  • Knowing the rules, principles, norms of architectural design standards and using it in practical design work and construction projects;
