Surveying Laboratory

Students from different disciplines including Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Urban Design have the opportunity to practically conduct engineering survey related experiments and prepare reports in this laboratory. Following is the list of experiments that can be performed in this laboratory.

1.       Pace Length

2.       Right Angle

3.       Introduction to Level and its setup

4.       Differential Levelling

5.       Profile Levelling

6.       Double Rodded Levelling

7.       Measuring Angles with Theodolite

8.       Introduction to Total Station and its Setup

9.       Measuring Distance and Angle with Total Station

The available equipment in this laboratory are as follow:

1.       Level

2.       Theodolite

3.       Total Station

4.       Map meter

5.       Planimeter

Every semester students practically perform all the above-mentioned experiment. These labs sessions not only help students to learn better but also enable them to exploit the theory of survey in practice. All lab session is conducted under the supervision of faculty members and lab technician. After every of lab session, students are required to prepare a detailed lab report following an acceptable standard format. Then, the reports are checked and scored accordingly.
