 Departmental Structure

1. Name of the department

There are five departments available at the faculty named; preclinical, paraclinical, Animal rearing, Food Hygiene, and Clinic.

The faculty formally established five departments. They are:

1. 1 Preclinical, dealing with Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, and Biochemistry.

1. 2. Paraclinical, dealing with Bacteriology, Poultry disease, Pathology, Pathophysiology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Virology, Animal Hygiene, and Epidemiology and Bacterial disease of domestic animals.

1. 3. Animal rearing, dealing with Veterinary Ecology, Sheep and goats rearing, Large animal rearing, Fish and bee keeping, poultry rearing, Genetics and biometry, Animal Breeding, Animal nutrition, Principle of Research and Monograph.

1. 4. Food Hygiene and Technology, deals with Quality control of food, Food Technology, Food Hygiene and Veterinary Legislation.

1. 5. Clinic, dealing with, Triogenology, Clinical diagnosis, Veterinary Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology.

The basic science is temporarily affiliated to the faculty and deals with preliminary course subjects, Physic, Chemistry, Herbs, Zoology, Mathematics, History and Islamic  and social science.

 

3. Vision

Enhance quality of teaching and learning to respond market demand, standard quality teaching, research and services in veterinary science and strengthen outcome based education and finally recognition of the department at national and international level.

 

4. Mission

Train and educate qualified veterinary professionals consider to high quality knowledge and skill and vocational capacity based on needs of time to be responsive for the country requirement.

 

5. Objectives

  • Encourage and strengthen teaching and learning quality
  • Present continuous organization of technical instruction for veterinarians and farming community
  • Act as an educational institution for provision of animal health services consultation, diagnosis for private, governmental and community.
  • Instruction of young veterinarians with high quality knowledge and professional skills that serve community
  • To provide better instructional atmosphere for animal health security and increase production.
