An Agreement Letter between the Faculty of Pharmacy of KU and the National Food and Drug Administration of Afghanistan

An Agreement Letter aimed at establishing cooperation and coordination between the Faculty of Pharmacy of Kabul University and the National Food and Drug Administration of Afghanistan on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 by excellency Prof. Dr. Mohammad Osman Babury Chancellor of Kabul University, Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Shinwari Director of the National Food and Drug Administration; Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Tutakhil Deputy Director of the Administrative Office of the President (AOP) and Professor Agha Mohammad Jakfar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, signed the agreement letter. In signing this letter, the presidency of Kabul University and the Office of Presidential Affairs are the approvers and supporters.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Osman Babury Chancellor of Kabul University said in the signing of the agreement letter; there are positive and key points; which could increase cooperation between the Faculty of Pharmacy of Kabul University and the Afghan National Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Babury emphasized that the Faculty of Pharmacy of Kabul University is ready to cooperate with the National Food and Spice Administration due to its scientific and academic capacity. The Chancellor of Kabul University stated that this agreement includes important and vital demands and commitments and is effective for improving the quality of food and drug as well as monitoring the performance of pharmacies and spice companies in the country.
Then, Dr. Ibrahim Shinwari, Director of the National Food and Drug Administration of Afghanistan, thanked the Chancellor of Kabul University for his cooperation and support in signing the agreement letter and said that the National Food and Drug Administration is a vital and fundamental institution with the help and cooperation of Kabul University’s Pharmacy Faculty. Mr. Shinwari added that in order to better implement this agreement, a working group will be set up between the National Food and Drug Administration and the Faculty of Pharmacy to share issues closely with everyone and cause positive changes in the quality and effectiveness of food and medicine in the country.
However, Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Tutakhil Deputy Director of the Administrative Office of the President (AOP) called the signing of the agreement between the Faculty of Pharmacy of Kabul University and the National Food and Drug Administration a huge step towards cooperation between the two departments, adding that controlling the quality of drug and food It is low in the country and the system is in trouble in this regard, and we hope that the signing of this agreement could be effective and useful in this regard, and that the capacity of the professors and pharmacists of the Faculty of Pharmacy will be implemented well.
On the other hand, Mr. Mohammad Jakfar, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Kabul University, says that according to the provisions of this agreement, cooperation between the Faculty of Pharmacy and the National Food and Drug Administration in conducting scientific research and studies on problems and urgent needs of food and medicine, scientific workshops and competitions Food and Drug Problems and Challenges, Professional Development of Pharmacists and Food Technicians, Development of Food and Drug Strategies and Policies, Cooperation in the Recruitment of Pharmacists through the National Food and Drug Administration Board, Establishment of a Pharmaceutical and Toxicology Information Center Toxic information will be shared, controlled and detected.
